3 brothers in the league

Post by NWebster »

JJ, Derek and now TJ has inked with the Steelers. I really should know this but have there ever been 3 brothers active at the same time?

4 or 5 of the Nesser brothers were playing for the Columbus Panhandles at any given moment in the late 1910s and early 1920s.

Yes, but they were not in the NFL at time same time.

Joaquin = 1983-84
Luis = 1985-1990
Max = 1986-1990

This includes years they were under contract, but did not play.

Another non-qualifying trio:

Boss = 2003-2008
Champ = 1999-2014
Ron = 1998

There are probably some others like this.

I'm guessing Ron Bailey wasn't successful because he didn't have a cool nickname like his brothers.

All this talk of football brothers reminds me of the Family Guy sketch with the Manning family sitting around the supper table talking about how well they all did that day, and Archie says "Eli, you threw three TD's today, but Peyton threw four." Peyton replies, "Cooper got pre-approved for a Visa card today. We all had a good day today." or something like that.
