Jerry Kramer HOFer?
So, exactly what is it that the HOF voters don't like about Jerry Kramer?

Back in day it may have been personal, that he did his own book...but also there were a lot of Packers getting in, so he got pushed out of the way. Again maybe personal.
But now, the 3 pro bowl was less than a lot of his peers at the time, (though he was 5-time All-Pro plus another 2nd team)
But what we don't know is how close the vote was for the 50th Anniversary team..maybe it was close, I have no idea.
Anyway, recent years it's just that there have been a huge number of good players... I don't know that there is anything against him now. Just that others are jsut as qualified in senior committee (though we've seen a few that were not, at least in my view)

What are Jerry's chances of getting nominated in August?JohnTurney wrote:Back in day it may have been personal, that he did his own book...but also there were a lot of Packers getting in, so he got pushed out of the way. Again maybe personal.

1960s Pro Bowl appearances are problematic to me since it was clear the Western was the superior conference for the entire decade. Does anyone adjust for this?

I think if Kramer were going to go in, he would have already gone in, as he has always been, in a sense, the "voice" of the 1960's Packers. He's always been the one Packer from that team who's always spoken collectively about the team; Kramer's the one who's been most interviewed about the 60's Packers, even more than Hornung. If that kind of edge hasn't helped him over the years in the eyes of the media in getting him into the HOF, it never will, as long as he is alive. Once he passes, they will quickly induct him, I think.
