All three of these AAFC squads have plenty in common. Each finish regular season 7-7, each get swept by the league's obvious #1 & #2, Clev & SF, and all three split with each other. A shame the Dons were stuck in their division, but does it make a difference? Were they better than Bills & Colts anyway? They look to have a case for they, in back-to-back weeks (#11 & 12), beat Bills then Colts (both on the road) later than they themselves lost to them (also back-to-back weeks, Colts then Bills, weeks #7 & 8).
Not that it really mattered much anyway for the league title game would be the AAFC equivalent of SBXXIV (SF/Den), but Bills division championship showed some resilience. Here all they had to do was beat Colts in finale and not only would they finish, FWIW, above-500 but go straight to the league title game. Yet they get bounced, 35-15, then have to go right on back to Memorial the following week...(when, again, it could have over with). Yet they didn't let it demoralize them. Back to Balt, had amnesia, and took care of business.
