The Western New York Chapter of the PFRA will be holding its second annual meeting on Saturday, April 8. The event will be held at Autism Services' Resource Center, 97 Main Street, Hamburg, NY. Last year's gathering was a great success, and we are hoping this year's event will be even better!
The event starts at 2:00. There will be a meet-and-greet with refreshments, followed by an agenda of guest speakers and exhibits. Our speakers list includes former Buffalo Bill Jeff Nixon, who is very active in health and benefit issues related to retired NFL players. Ken Crippen, PFRA President and native WNYer, will speak about PFRA activities and current status. Mark Palczewski, professional photographer, will provide a power-point presentation of his favorite NFL shots, and share anecdotes about exploits on the sidelines. Denny Lunch, the Bills retired archivist, will share stories about his long career as an NFL executive. Greg Tranter will be on hand to speak about the Hartford Knights and the Atlantic Coast Football League (the Knights played from 1968 through 1973 and were affiliated with the Green Bay Packers in 1968 and the Buffalo Bills from 1969 through 1971). Greg will be bringing along some fascinating iems from his collection for display. We are hoping to add a couple more speakers to the list.
The meeting is scheduled to go until 5:00, but we went way beyond that time last year!
