As a frustrated Bills fan, I'll pick on Reggie some more. He was thrown for losses of 8, 6, and 10 yards, all inside the red zone, and the Bills didn't score a single point on any of those drives. Dan Carpenter twice missed field goals and the Bills turned it over on downs. Those two missed FG's may well have cost the Bills wins in their first and most recent losses of the year. (They were down 10-7 to Baltimore and probably would have tied the game- if not taken the lead- if Reggie hadn't been caught for a 6 yard loss. They lost 13-7. His most recent 8 yard loss came on the first possession of OT against Miami. If Carpenter makes a shorter FG, Miami still gets the ball with a chance to tie or win.)

Paul Hornung was 12-38 in FG's for the 1964 Packers. As I have pointed out here in the past if you review all the games that the misses occurred, and the distances of the misses, you could argue he single-handedly cost the Packers at least a tie for the Western Division title.

After going 1-3 for 23 yards with one interception at San Francisco while replacing an injured Bill Nelsen, he started the next game--at home against the Steelers. His first half performance was so bad that he never saw the field again--ever: 1 for 16 for 44 yards and two interceptions for a QB rating of 6.25
