1989: Steelers VS Eagles - going into the playoffs

Who was better between these two PA teams from the same season as '89 wound down, each finishing 5-1?

The Eagles were more talented, but the Steelers were hotter, and had a good chance of beating them.

It's easy to forget that Philly did finish 5-1 in '89 considering that the campaign was looked back on as a disappointment. Yes, Birds won one more game than the year before but 11-5 wild card then one-and-done at home hardly meets SB-expectations which was the case in Philly going into '89. Losing at SD and then at home to Wash (dropped to 6-4) had to tell you that expectations were not going to be met. If the two play each other late-December, I say Noll finds a way to overcome the talent gap. FWIW, the Steelers were a doable game-ending Gary Anderson FG away from beating the Birds a year prior - nadir of the Chuck Noll Era, mind you.
