1983: Seahawks VS Lions

Post by 74_75_78_79_ »

Who's best of these two 9-7, overachieving-in-the-playoffs squads? One of them actually making it to their respective CC, winning two games to get there, and the other who, in the divisional round, very much almost beat the Niners at Candlestick? Curt Warner vs Billy Sims - who wins?

Seattle, they swept the Raiders and beat a 9-7 Cleveland team on the road. The Lions had three road wins--against the Bucs, Packers (in OT) and Bears.

'83 Seahawks. Not even close.

Heck, I could argue the 1983 Lions were not as good as the 1980 or 1981 Lions teams.

We almost found out the answer to this the following year. However, by the time the Lions and Seahawks met late in the '84 season both Warner and Sims were sidelined with knee injuries.
