Best players who never experienced a winning or .500 season
Of course you have Archie who never played on a winning team but did experience a couple 8-8s both in '79 & '83 with Saints & Vikes respectively. Who are the best that ever played who never were on a team that finished the regular season above or even at .500?

And his best receiver, Danny Abramowicz.

Randy Grimes started a number of years at C for some bad Buc teams. A news article about his addiction to pain meds mentioned that he was a Pro Bowl alternate twice. He was drafted right after they squeaked into the 1982 playoffs with a 5-4 record.

Nnamdi Asomugha, sort of. No winning seasons with the Raiders (8-8 in 2010), two seasons with the Iggles (8-8 and 4-12), then finished with the 2013 49er's -- and although they finished 12-4, he only played the first three games, where they were 1-2.

If not for Buddy & Riley's '94 (AZ) & '99 (SD) campaigns respectively, Eric Hill could be on this list.

The 2004 Bills went 9-7. Spikes also played on 8-8 teams in Philadelphia and San Diego.

I was trying to come up with a 1960s Broncos player but Taylor, Denson, Mingo and Gonsoulin all had winning seasons elsewhere.
Norm Snead comes close too. He mostly played for losers with a few exceptions.

Off the top of my head I remember Sam Baker, the old K/P from the 50s and 60s who had the récord for years for the most Games played without a playoff appearence. But he may have hade a winning season.
