I'm assuming that you meant the 1985 Bears?

1940 for me. Four future Hall of Fame players on the line (Stydahar, Fortmann, Turner & Musso) with two more (Luckman & McAfee) in the backfield, along with a host of other very good players and coaches.

Payton and the 46 D carried the 1985 Bears, but the 1940 Bears were better all around and if anything, the 1941 Bears were even better.

I would go with 1940 over 1983 but not 1985.

The 1985 Bear were one of the greatest single year teams ever, but the Bears of the 1940's had a championship run of 3 NFL Championships in 4 years and 4 championships in all during the 1940's.

Well, maybe the 1985 Bears were the best Bears team of all-time but the best 4-year Bears run may have not have included the 1985 team.

Yes, I meant 1985 Bears ... and I go with the 1940 club because that team for the most part remained strong for several years. And other than the Raiders of the early 1970s, what other team boasted four HOF offensive lineman?
