RIP Prince, remembering SBXLI
Playing "Purple Rain" at halftime IN the rain. From Minn, he was a sports-fan. Pretty sure a Viking-fan as well. Could PURPLE People Eaters have been inspiration? I'm pretty sure (although we DID first hear 'purple rain' used by America in "Ventura Highway").

He did a song for the Vikes a few years ago called "Purple and Gold". Hard to find online but it's odd for a football song. I remember Jim Rome playing it over and over.

I bet the lyrics aren't nearly as pretentious as his usually were.MatthewToy wrote:He did a song for the Vikes a few years ago called "Purple and Gold". Hard to find online but it's odd for a football song. I remember Jim Rome playing it over and over.

I believe the chorus was, "Purple Pain, Purple Pain."rhickok1109 wrote:I bet the lyrics aren't nearly as pretentious as his usually were.MatthewToy wrote:He did a song for the Vikes a few years ago called "Purple and Gold".
