Jared Allen retires

According to several sources, Jared Allen has announced his retirement.

HoFer? Profile is 4/5/10s? which strikes me as plenty good enough. The voters will also like his 136 sacks, currently 9th all time. He should get in after a few years wait, and that's fine with me.

Yes, he belongs in the Hall of Fame. He was a great pass rusher and played hard all the time. He wasn't a mediocre motor guy like John Abraham. Also, he was better against the run than Dwight Freeney.

I wish he could have retired a Viking. Having said that, he will no doubt be remembered as one. A great player with a great motor.
