ABC/ESPN dual telecast

I started watching today's Texans-Chiefs game on ABC and saw it was also on ESPN.
I switched to ESPN and found it was delayed by several seconds.
Any idea why the delay?

That's like asking why is there a delay between TV and local radio. To quote Homer Simpson, "Ah, the mysteries of life."

Probably so ESPN can squeeze in an extra commercial somewhere along the way. :D
