Also, if there's any Manning record that there's an issue with - and I posted about it here when it happened - it's that he got the single season yards record on a lateral. Obvious and clear lateral, but the NFL / Elias decided to let it stand because "it was for a record", calling into question the integrity of Elias (they have none.) I don't really care about stats anyways but it was bogus to literally hand someone a record for passing yards that didn't happen. No, i don't blame Manning for this either.

I agree with all that. Manning tried to play well on Sunday. Turns out he simply was incompetent.
The two egregious NFL records are Strahan's single season sack mark and Manning's single season yards record. They are awful records because of how they were obtained. Brett Favre laid down for Strahan. Also, it was an awful ruling by the stats crew. The play was definitely a run. The Manning record is awful due to Reaser's reasoning.
Is Manning still the single season yardage record holder? Shows you I don't care all that much about NFL stats either. Maybe Drew Brees now has the record. I don't know.

Shades of 1972, when Mercury Morris miraculously gained the nine yards he needed to reach 1,000 yards rushing AFTER THE SEASON--giving he and Csonka the stature of being the first teammates to rush for that milestone in the same season. The league went back to a play Morris made in Week 6 and declared that it wasn't a lateral to Morris, but a fumble by Earl Morrall.

The Bills would indeed give the ball to OJ even in the waning moments of a game, but there was good reason for it. The Bills had a miserable passing game, in 1973 and the second half of 1976. OJ broke the single game rushing record against Detroit by repeatedly carrying the ball, down 27-7 in the 4th quarter. But with Gary Marangi going 4 of 21, what were the odds the Bills would have scored that last touchdown while throwing?
On the America's Game episode for the 1973 Miami Dolphins, Mercury Morris remarked that the Bills kept feeding O.J. the ball in a game at Buffalo to help his yardage and said something like "Our team wasn't like that."
Good points. I remember on Monday Night Countdown about 20 years ago, there was a segment called Distant Replay. One segment about the 70's Dolphins has Kooch talking about how the Dolphins' defense would usually stuff OJ, but in one blowout game, the Bills kept feeding him the ball, and he finally broke 100. Kooch may have been referring to a 1973 matchup where Buffalo was shut out 17-0. In that game, both OJ and Jim Braxton went over 100 yards rushing. But I think that shows how Buffalo's passing game could be so inept that running OJ could be Buffalo's best chance to move the ball.

Yes, it was the 17-0 game at Buffalo on November 18, 1973 they were referring to. As I recall, the Bills twice were inside the Dolphin 5 and couldn't score. Simpson was stopped on the key plays as Kuechenberg said. Ferguson, then a rookie, was 6-21-98 with several drops.
In their other game against the Dolphins in 1973, Simpson had 55 yards in 14 carries.
If Manning was only playing to break a record he would've been joyful when it happened. That was the most morose record-breaking "ceremony" I've ever seen.

You might want to exercise caution and not brag about your ability to use fraudulent means to access data.
Some Veteran might see you and give you a backhander that would knock you into the middle of next week.
There may be those who would find a sick humor in your post if it was not so blatantly false and stupid.
Most Veterans access our records and data and services using a plastic photo-ID card barcoded for accuracy.
It is issued by the VA and not any of the fraternal-type groups.
Individuality is optional and can be a proud display of service indicating Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force or Coast Guard.
If health permits my Green Bay visit and you have the gumption to attend, we will meet and you can see the card.
