Re: 2025 QB Carousel
Whats interesting about this past game between the Steelers and Jets, is that the Jets failed on two, two-point conversions. Had they just kicked their extra points, maybe a different outcome? They lost by two ... There were point-chasing scenarios by the Jets and Bills. The Bills scenario is noted...

Re: 2025 QB Carousel
Youre right JWL, but Rodgers did want to comeback to the Jets. Even with five wins, its a tough decision for a team to get rid of a QB who had 28 TD passes but Glenn wanted to go younger with Fields who played well against his former team. Still surprising how bad both defenses played but it happen...

Re: 2025 QB Carousel
Not sure what Rodgers needed revenge for. The Jets rolled out the red carpet for him. Got for him any player it was realistic for them to get (Lazard, Adams, Cobb, etc.). Brought in his beloved Hackett. Then he ruined games in 2024 by playing hurt. Helped get the head coach fired. But he needs to ge...

Re: Wards of the League (new book about the 1952 Dallas Texans)
I enjoyed the book. An ESPN 30 for 30 type documentary on this team would be nice although just about everyone directly associated with the team has died.
Learning about Kerrville, Texas the same week of the devastating flash floods a few weeks ago was eerie.

Re: Pre-World War One nominees for 2025 class
Shiring is mentioned in one sentence in Pigskin for a being a Massillon ringer. Kerkhoff is not mentioned in that book at all. Parratt was written about on a few pages. He was described as the best quarterback of his era. My copy of Cope's The Game That Was is sitting in my mom's home in Florida and...

1999 Elway’s retirement made 3peat talk for DEN impossible The Falcons seemed to have “yeah but” one hit wonder vibes Safe to say the Rams were the longest of longshots This was ESPN's predictions for 1999 in form of power rankings; https://a.espncdn.com/nfl/preview99/rankings.html They had Jackson...

Re: What NFL season had the least clear favorite in the preseason?
2002 is as good a choice as any year. I don't recall a clear cut favorite. That summer I was in Las Vegas and did three $20 futures bets for the Eagles, Titans, and Jets to win the Super Bowl. Obviously, two of these were sure to be wrong. I was hoping one would be good. Considering the Jets played...
