Re: Jason Kelce
I sure wish more of those players would make it in. Hilgenberg, Hull, Nalen, Mangold, and Pouncey are the strongest candidates IMO. Pouncey isn’t eligible for a couple more years; we’ll see how he does once he’s up. Just in general, I still have trouble understanding why so few centers and guards ma...

Re: Jason Kelce
I would say unlikely, just by virtue of him being an interior lineman. Just going by the historical pattern here. Note that Dermontti Dawson, who has a similar resume, didn’t make it in until his seventh try. Then again, Kelce won a ring and Dawson didn’t, so maybe that makes a difference. Who knows?

Re: 2024 HOF Class
In terms of lower down the ballot several thoughts Hoping Rice gets back in the semis IMO he compares well with a lot of the ballot. Yeah, I'd like to see Rice make it eventually. I know his career could have been longer, but he was one of the best pass rushers around during his career, and he accu...

Re: 2024 HOF Class
You're right about Williams but interior linemen on both sides get shafted. A pure nose tackle still hasnt been voted in yet either and Smerlas is deserving as a senior sometime. Definitely agree on Smerlas. He's been on my radar for some time as one of the few nose tackles who is deserving. I thin...

Re: 2024 HOF Class
Valid point about Gates. You may well be right. One amendment to the guys moving onto the finalist list: should be Kevin Williams over Wilfork. Don't understand how Williams didn't make the semifinalist cut this time around, given the tremendous player he was. His sin, I think, was that he was way t...

2024 HOF Class
Looking at the list of first-time eligibles for next year, Julius Peppers is the only guy who really strikes me as a no-brainer first-ballot inductee. Antonio Gates is obviously deserving, but I suspect he'll end up waiting a year or two because of the hall's historic stinginess with TEs. I believe ...

AFL Players' HOF Worthiness
Hi all, Been a while since I last posted, but here's one regarding something I've periodically wondered about. What are people's feelings on how deserving various guys from the AFL are for the hall? There are a number of players on the AFL All-Time team (and a few who missed the cut) who aren't yet ...

Re: Would-Be Dynasties
I’d say the late ‘90’s Broncos, for one. Losing a RB of Davis’ caliber to injury was a big blow, but it wasn’t fatal, considering Shanahan’s run-heavy system that ended up producing a parade of 1000-yarders. The bigger problem was Elway’s retirement. Although successors Griese and Plummer had period...

Re: Now Isaac Curtis "Changed football" and I missed it some
Yeah, sorry, that’s ridiculous. I don’t even see Curtis as HOF-level. Harold Jackson, Cliff Branch, and Drew Pearson are all more deserving wideouts from that era. Riley is questionable at best, as has been discussed here many times. Ken A. and Parrish do belong in, and I’d say Willie A. actually ha...

Re: George Seifert
In my opinion, I don't think one bad season should keep a coach out of the PFHOF. Seifert's time with SF should be much more heavily weighted than what he did in Carolina. I’d been unsure about Seifert for a while, but am starting to come around to the idea of his case being re-opened, so to speak....
