Can see that Lester Hayes is truly in a penalty tier of his own.
And that is confirmed by watching old games. Dude was grabby. One voter is pretty upset he didn't make the 34...
noted it was first-time he didn't advance in his years as a senior.

Re: Hacksaw Reynolds VS Matt Millen

I would choose Reynolds, as I don't think the 49ers reach Super Bowl XVI without him. But Millen also was a key part of the 49ers defense a few years later. Both were solid and consistent. one oddity, Millen said Reynolds was his "idol" I don't think he studied the film like Reynolds. Rey...

he is interesting candidate, but his big knock was him saying he intentionally missed block(s) to get his QB hurt. 15 years later he said he regretted it

Re: 2026 52 Modern-era candidiates

Tackles will be interesting. Willie Anderson has been in discussion for a few years. There are good pitches for Richmond Webb and Lomas Brown Barry Sanders sent a letter to all the voters and his time running out (also Webb getting close) Have no idea if the pushes for Brown and Webb will take a lit...

Re: Vikings/Raiders Super Bowl X (1975)

Some (maybe many) Vikings, including Bud Grant, said the 1975 team was their best. Take that for what it's worth. Raiders -- 1975 defense better than 1976 but offense -Stabler threw a pile of INTs in 1975. So that is hard to tell. In 1975 Raiders were a great pass defense, used 5 DBs as much as anyo...

Re: Hacksaw Reynolds VS Matt Millen

, Martin had three picks in a Super Bowl win (I've seen some people say they would have given him and Jim Plunkett co-MVP's of that Super Bowl). I think Martin should have been MVP, but QBs usually get the spoils of a win. Martin had a very good career, several defensive TDs and would get to the QB...

Re: Hacksaw Reynolds VS Matt Millen

Millen started right away, so there is that. He was a bigger player, a run stuffer (he'd often get replaced on passing downs) and had all the leadership qualities Reynolds didn't start right away; he won the job in 1973, but part of that, not all, was Bob Stein getting dinged in camp. There were yea...

Re: '51 Rams DEFENSE (okay, STs too) discussion

This Rams thread below was created a bit ago... https://profootballresearchers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7869 So why not talk about this World Champion (all but the offense , that is)? How far behind 'Fearsome Foursome' would you place this unit? How do you compare them with the '70s or '80s along ...
