Re: Clark Kent Wild Card Weekend

Wow ... and just like that, a 14-3 season goes down the drain. Will the Vikings bring Darnold back? A one-year franchise tag? Go with McCarthy? O'Connell coached a great year but in two big games, his team wasnt ready for primetime. Great defensive effort by the Rams. Good news for Los Angeles fans...

Yeah, but Herbert made interesting decisions on a couple of those picks. Impatient maybe?

Re: Today - first defensive 2-point conversion in NFL playoffs, ever

Justin Herbert 3 picks all year. 4 today.

I am sure there are guys who threw more in playoffs than regular season, someone who threw one or none in backup role and then threw 1 or 2
in playoffs -- but for a guy to more than double his season total.

Quite an anti-achievement.

Today - first defensive 2-point conversion in NFL playoffs, ever

That is the first defensive 2-point conversion in playoff game since it became
a rule. So, I suppose that counts as "in NFL history"

Scott Matlock probably now is

Scott Matlock now would have to be the most recent two way player Patrick Ricard was someone who had significant snaps on offense and defense ... depending on what something thinks is significant. To me he was a role player on offense and defense. Last year and this year (more than 125 offensive and...

Re: Breakable and Unbreakable records

Do you think we will ever see a quarterback start a Super Bowl, play essentially the entire game (correct me if I’m wrong but I see no other player with any pass attempts in the box score), win the game, and complete fewer than the six passes that Bob Griese threw in Super Bowl VIII? Even in game t...

Re: 1988 Tim Krumrie and NT season tackle totals

Tim Krumrie unofficially had 152 tackles in 1988. Can anyone tell me if that is the highest season NT tackle total? Also, were there NTs who would regularly have 100+ tackles each season? I believe it is. Back then tackles were more loosely defined on teams, especially the assist. And that's on gam...

Re: Dave Volsky's YouTube channel

That does bring up the question - if NFL Films purchased the Tel-Ra collection in 1980, how is another entity selling Tel-Ra DVDs? I don't have an answer. I don't know the answer. I can tell you what I read on a tape trading board many years ago. I have no clue if it is true. Someone was posting so...

Re: Breakable and Unbreakable records

1979 Rams defense allowed -7 yards of offense -- in a dome ... facing a good offense. The 79 Rams no doubt faced a good offense in that game. When I unveiled the offense score percentages, the Seahawks came up as the best offense of 1979. The Rams themselves show up as the sixth best defense. It'll...
