So what’s it like to try to get a request from NFL Films? My only entreaty - in which I identified myself as a PFRA member and researcher with what I thought was a legitimate request, not for them to give me a game or anything like that, just check something - went unanswered. I am curious about how much they actually have. For example do they have gamebooks or play by plays not available on this website. Or a lot of video footage that is not publicly available now but perhaps one day could be made so online?

Out of curiosity I looked to see which SB runner up in the 1970s had the best SRS in Pro Football Reference. For what it is worth the 1977 Denver Broncos are rated highest using their formula. 1978 Dallas Cowboys were second.

In regards to the Steelers-Cowboys of the 1970s there seemed to me to be a level of animosity between the two teams that didn't exist between the Redskins and Dolphins, plus the fact that the Redskins-Dolphins two SBs were 10 years apart vs. 3 years for the Steelers-Cowboys.

The exact capacity is 60,108 so your eyes may have seen the 6 and 8 and that is what stuck.

My first thought in seeing this question was Montana vs. Marino. Not just because of their overall careers but because when they met both had great seasons. I was so excited for that SB. I didn't care who won but was hoping it would be 40-38.

I hate to keep on bringing up the Packers in all these discussions, but the 1963 Packers have a case. They lost two games - both to the Bears - in an 11-2-1 season. I guess you could say they made the "playoffs" because they played in the "Playoff Bowl," but that doesn't really ...
