Re: Was the NFL in 1971 that weak?

On You Tube, I found a recording of what was called The Sports Huddle out of WEEI in Boston from 12/26/1971 (the day after the Mia-KC playoff classic). Eddie Andelman said that the NFL at that time was so weak and deluded that the Pats could be SB contenders in two years (listen starting at the 27:...

Re: Old NFL Record and Fact Books

I would have thought there might be someone here from the Green Bay area. It was worth a shot.

Re: Most boring NFL season?

1973 was a good call but I still believe if Calvin Hill wouldnt have gotten hurt in the playoff game against the Rams, Dallas would have beaten the Vikings and faced Miami again in a grudge match. Weirdly, I think I would have rather seen the Vikings lose a tough game to Dallas, than get blown out ...

Has anyone digitized old Street & Smiths and other publications

I am moving and have a few old Street & Smith annual FB guides. Has anyone digitized them and posted them online? Don't have much room to move some of these items. I also have a few old media guides and books I was hoping to unload.

Re: 1973 Raiders

I also brought up Gowdy's "real SB" take beginning of the AFCCG. Miami and Minnesota should have been seen by most as the top-two teams in the league going into that very game. Vikes 12-2, just beat Cowboys in Big D, 27-10, they did beat Oakland in the opener... PS - Yeah, perhaps on that ...

Re: Sacks on Pro Football Reference

Pretty exciting development on pro-football-reference.com, they now have posted individual sack totals dating back to 1960. Bob Lilly, Deacon Jones, Joe Greene, and so on, sacks are now included in their stats. Awesome. I am so glad to see that those old players will finally get the credit for thei...

Re: Thoughts on 1969 Raiders-Chiefs title game

Raiders blew the game without a doubt. Needed to run Dixon, Banazak or Hubbard more but hindsight is 20/20. Aaron Brown and Jerry Mays had monster games. I still cant believe Marsalis, a rookie, shut down Biletnikoff ? Lamonica's injuries in this game and the 70 AFC Championship, might have cost hi...

Re: Aaron Rodgers

When GB hired LaFleur I said that within a couple of years they'll be trading Rodgers for picks. Especially after Clay Matthews was told "there wasn't any room" for him on the team anymore. I based my projection on the theory that coaches usually want their own era with their own quarterb...
