Not only a lot of dirt about Brett but also his dad....the apple did not fall far from the tree. Here's my take on my blog a couple days back:

Call me crazy, but I'm sensing sarcasm and bitterness here.JeffreyMiller wrote:You mean there are Steelers NOT in the Hall of Fame???? Wow!!

Re: Book Review
Joe:
The annual football roundup I do for LJ runs in the August issue. I'm not sure when it gets posted online.
That said, I would recommend Joe's book to everyone on the forum. It's a thorough history of the NFL in the 1970s.

Re: Rudy Bukich Will Live Forever in History
Just to clarify...Carmichael caught just three td passes with the Packers, but he also scored twice on rushes and twice on kickoff returns. One of those kick returns was for 106 yards and was the NFL record for nearly 50 years IIRC. 106 Yards was also the title of his self published autobiography th...

Just a followup to my earlier post about Didinger and McDonald. Didinger was the Eagles beat man on the Phila. Bulletin, then a columnist for the Phila Daily News, then worked for NFL Films and is in the writer's wing of the HoF. He is well respected and ubiquitous in Philadelphia. Today I heard him...

Re: HOF Safety Talk
Lets get Easley and Robinson in before any other safeties are talked about. What's 'funny', and sums up the PFHOF, is that for all intents and purposes there's a zero percent chance of those two being the next two safeties to go in. Meanwhile, Lynch seems likely to get in one of these upcoming year...

Ray Didinger was the committee member who presented McDonald for the vote. Tommy had been his favorite player growing up. Ray did such a great job that I believe McDonald had him introduce Tommy at the induction ceremony. I think the touchdown per catch ratio was a big selling point as was his being...

Re: HOF Class of 2016
I have to respectfully disagree about Owens. There is off the field and there is in the locker room. I think locker room antics like his do cause rifts in the team and have an effect on the on field performance of the team. Some talented players are not worth the trouble they cause.

Re: Patriots radiate class at every level...
I hope it was an aberration for Rodgers, OCC. As for Cam, I tend to think of him as joyful like Favre was. When the team hits a rough patch at some point in the future, we'll see whether he reverts to sullenness or whether he's grown up a bit. I also think that Mike Shula has done a real nice job in...
