Re: Don Shula's Best Teams

Haven't a number of players who were on both teams said that the '73 squad was better than the 17-0 group? Maybe that's anecdotal, but the '73 team had a notably tougher schedule and dominated its post-season opponents in a way the '72 team didn't. I think I'd vote 1973. Obviosuly 72 moesuccessful ...

N.Suh

He's officially retired and the PF HOF on X posted his eligibility for the 2028 Class, I just don't see his as Hall-worthy . . . and of course we can all argue Big vs. Small Hall, though I think he's 1000% HOVG and will get discussed in the room for the Hall. Strange too, he may have had as good a R...

Re: Time of Scoring Plays

That's an interesting topic. Being a Lions fan, four such games come immediately to mind. All ended with a TD pass with less than a minute to play (some on final play of game): Detroit at Green Bay, Sept. 25, 1955---Rote TD pass to Knafelc, GB won 20-17 Baltimore at Detroit, Oct. 20, 1957--Layne TD...

Re: Packers fatigue

For some reason I don't associate Eddie George with the rest of those players. Maybe its because of my perception as him being a 3.0 YPC guy, but I view him more like a Joe Morris than a Priest Holmes. But I would be fine with any of the other guys you listed being in the HOF. Yeah, I'd drop George...

Re: 4-3 LBers with 10 sacks or more

How about a few of the following: - Rufus Porter a couple times in the late 80's and early 90's - Bill Forester had a big year and blitzed A LOT in 1959, he had 12 - Bill George in 1961, but if you watch the film he's often rushing from the line with his fist in the dirt. Shaunnessey ran some reall...

Re: Packers fatigue

Sharpe getting elected could also help other players with high peak-short careers but it will be interesting if his election helps Dilweg, Lewellen and Isbell down the road? I know Isbell gets support but I feel he also could be cancelling them out as well. I feel Lewellen will only have a chance a...

Re: Quiz question: Rushing leaders and all-pro selections

The other agencies got him but I always found it odd that Bill Dudley was 2nd Team with AP in 1946 despite leading the league in Rushing Yards, Punt Return Yards AND Interceptions. I think the other agencies got it right that year with him on 1st Team.

How about Frank Cope? It was a dubious selection but the only all decade I know of hand who's not in.
