Re: N.Suh

Possibly the ultimate what could have been is Wally Chambers, pre-injury he was a problem and likely on his way to a Hall of Fame career going DROY, AP2, AP2, AP1 prior to getting injured.

Re: NFL Defenses that allowed 14 PPG or less in a season

I think an era adjustment is required. Then further, an opponent adjustment is required. Then a Special Teams Adjustment is required - to break ties when there are small differences. How many points did your DEFENSE give up versus what your opponents of your era expect them to if they were not playi...

Re: 1950 Rams Record(s)

It’s not been 75 years since these were set, but I assure you that George Blanda’s 306 career missed field goals, and Paul Hornung’s 26 missed field goals in a season in 1964 are needless to say most certainly unbreakable. Nearly at 75 years though is Night Train Lane’s 14 interceptions in a single...

Re: 2008 Steelers: The last team to allow 14 PPG or less?

Its rare for rookies to come in and add to a great defensive season but the 24' Eagles did that within an excellent team effort. Great year, but I would still take the 2008/2011 Steeler's defenses over them. Still a black and blue era before stricter enforcement of personal fouls, defence-less rece...

Re: Tom Landry's Stats

I could be wrong, but I believe Tom Landry and his staff were among the first to truly track defensive statistics for their team. Tackles, sacks, passes defensed... Once the Cowboys started publishing their Bluebooks beginning in the early-1980's they included the coaching staff's statistics, but d...

Re: Don Shula's Best Teams

Haven't a number of players who were on both teams said that the '73 squad was better than the 17-0 group? Maybe that's anecdotal, but the '73 team had a notably tougher schedule and dominated its post-season opponents in a way the '72 team didn't. I think I'd vote 1973. Obviosuly 72 moesuccessful ...

N.Suh

He's officially retired and the PF HOF on X posted his eligibility for the 2028 Class, I just don't see his as Hall-worthy . . . and of course we can all argue Big vs. Small Hall, though I think he's 1000% HOVG and will get discussed in the room for the Hall. Strange too, he may have had as good a R...

Re: Time of Scoring Plays

That's an interesting topic. Being a Lions fan, four such games come immediately to mind. All ended with a TD pass with less than a minute to play (some on final play of game): Detroit at Green Bay, Sept. 25, 1955---Rote TD pass to Knafelc, GB won 20-17 Baltimore at Detroit, Oct. 20, 1957--Layne TD...

Re: Packers fatigue

For some reason I don't associate Eddie George with the rest of those players. Maybe its because of my perception as him being a 3.0 YPC guy, but I view him more like a Joe Morris than a Priest Holmes. But I would be fine with any of the other guys you listed being in the HOF. Yeah, I'd drop George...
