Re: Historic catches that wouldn't be catches today

I am a Cowboys fan and I admit that under the current rules it was the cotrect call, but three things bother me: 1) In every one of these overturned catches (Calvin Johnson vs. Chicago, Louis Murphy vs. San Diego, Dez Bryant vs. Green Bay) the refs in the field marked completion. it was later, under...

Re: Ice Bowl questions

I guess it depends on WHEN a decision would have been made to move the game to a neutral site. Unless there had been a general rule that winter (i.e. playoff) games could never be played in Green Bay, it's not a decision that could have been made too far in advance. It's one thing to schedule a neu...

Re: PFHOF Finalists

I also wonder if Junior Seau's suicide will count against him. I'll bet that he won't get close to 100% votes, but enough to get in.

Re: PFHOF Finalists

I think that Kurt Warner could be a dark horse this year. Remember: he brought the Rams and Cardinals to the Super Bowl when both teams were stagnant for a number of years and specially, in their new homes. His career is much different that most quarterbacks, due to his peeks and lows, and the fact ...

Re: Jethro Pugh

In 2010, Pugh signed me a photograph at Cowboys Stadium. Such a nice guy, it's a shame that the didn't get a Pro Bowl nod in his career due to playing alongside Hall of Famers Bob Lilly and Randy White.

Re: Former Giants coach Allie Sherman passes away

I also remember Sherman with ESPN and I liked the shows he was in, even that at that time I didn't knew anything about his background as player and coach.

Re: Today's playoff matchups . . .

In a slightly related note, next weekend will be the first time the Packers and Cowboys have met in the playoffs in Green Bay since the Ice Bowl. They didn't even meet in Green Bay again during the regular season until 1989. Three Packer home games against them during that stretch were all played i...

Re: Marvin Lewis vs Pittsburgh

Dick Vermeil as coach for the Eagles only won 1 game in 6 tries against the Cowboys at Philadelphia (but he won also the game that mattered the most, the 1980 NFC Championship game).
