Re: Drew Magary: Tom Brady's College Tape was Dog-***t
Dick Rehbein scouted Brady at Michigan and told his wife he had found the next Joe Montana.

Re: Greatest regular season games of all tme
It was before my time but I would've loved to have seen "The Thanksgiving Day Massacre" in which the Lions upset the otherwise perfect Packers in 1962. I saw that game on TV. I was the sports editor of a small paper in Ohio at the time and I visited my family in Green Bay for Thanksgiving...

Re: Statistical Question
Agree with you @TodMaher. I don't think it could be half the distance penalty from the 10 as we all know a Touchback comes out to the 20 yard line. I have contacted Pro Football Reference to see if they are willing to contact the NFL about it. If the infraction was committed at the 10-yard line, th...

Paul Brown never won another playoff game without Otto Graham, yet no one questions his place on the Mt Rushmore of greatest ever, coaches. I would. Trading Milt Plum for Jim Ninowski because you got in an argument with him is "How to Not Win Playoff Games for Dummies" Yeah, look at all t...

Re: Statistical Question
I have just been looking at the Gamebook for the Dolphins @ Browns game from this weekend. Specifically the penalties. I believe there is an error. The gamebook reports the penalties for Cleveland to be 9 for 84 yards. When I add their penalties up I get it to be 9 for 94 yards. It appears the issu...

Re: Longtime NFL head coaches returning to NCAA
Belichick isn't "returning" to college football. He's never coached at the college level before.

Re: Game Manager Quarterbacks in 2024
It seems odd to call Jordan Love a game manager. Goes off for 300/3 pretty often, with a mid completion percentage and high turnover rate. Definitely carries the team in some games and loses it in others. Besides Mahomes, if you want a guy who never seems to be the reason his team wins or loses, CJ...

Re: '99 Rams DEFENSE (okay, STs too) discussion
Don't forget Orlando Pace was on that team, too.... 3rd down conversions vs Rams were very low in every game. Opp winning percentage - I've said it before and I"m just going to say it one last time with more detail - I just don't think that's the best statistic. First, of course the best teams...

Re: LUCKIEST single-season teams?
Here are things that cannot be blamed on luck: Interceptions Fumbles Dropped passes Missed kicks Muffed kicks Penalties Here are things that can be blamed on luck: Coin tosses A missed kick that is blown just wide at the very last instant by an inexplicable gust of wind (if this happens in a playoff...

Yes, that's much more plausible, just as the fact that the earth is a globe is much more plausible than the nutty ideas of the flerfers.Brian wolf wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2024 5:31 pm Haha ... thats right Ralph ... the Packers just choked at the end of that game.
