Re: Best ever Broncos team that isn’t ’97, ’98, or 2015?
2003 DEN needed a last gasp drive just to force OT at home vs horrible Cleveland (a week after demolishing KC), DET missed an XP with a chance to tie when they never won on the road, and they struggled against arguably Cowher's worst PIT team. I agree with you about the other two. However, a washed...

Re: 1976 playoffs without the Steelers
In this scenario, I think the Raiders end up playing the Colts in the AFC Title Game, and I see them winning (that game and the Super Bowl). They weren't going to let this opportunity slip away after they got by the Patriots.

Re: Best ever Broncos team that isn’t ’97, ’98, or 2015?
The 2003 Broncos were a paper tiger. Only 2 of their 10 wins were against teams that finished above .500 (compared to the 2005 team winning 7 times against teams with winning records) The way they got humiliated by Indy was further proof that Miami should have gotten in. Denver only made it because...

Re: Best ever Broncos team that isn’t ’97, ’98, or 2015?
Reading that article about Plummer, it didnt seem like he wanted to continue playing for Mike Shanahan. He didnt play great but the team was still 7-4 when he got benched. You would think he would want to go to TB but his heart wasnt into football anymore. He seemed too sensitive over his benching,...

It doesn't look great, but they were playing without RB Clinton Portis in that game, which didn't help.getting blown-out in the 1st Rd, 41-10, to a QB still ISO his first ever playoff win is difficult to look past. And Jake did play in that game.

Re: Best ever Broncos team that isn’t ’97, ’98, or 2015?
The 2005 team was very good as well with Plummer at QB but didnt play well against the Steelers in the AFC championship game. Plummer would get replaced by Cutler soon afterward which I feel in hindsight, was a mistake. Why Plummer didnt try to start for another team and resume his career is a myst...

Re: Best ever Broncos team that isn’t ’97, ’98, or 2015?
An interesting Broncos team I want to mention is the 1981 team, Dan Reeves' 1st. Only team since the merger to go undefeated at home and miss the playoffs. Craig Morton at age 38 threw 21 TD's (which back then was a ton for an older QB) and Steve Watson had 12 TD's in his first 10 games. 9th in poi...

What if Paul Brown blocked Modell from buying the Browns:

Re: NFL "what-if" scenarios thread
What if Art Modell didn't move the Browns in 1995 but sold them instead? If Art did that, he ends up selling it to Al Lerner, more than likely (just want to get that out there). If the team goes on with Al Lerner in Cleveland starting in 1996, Belichick would probably remain the HC. However, that m...

Re: NFL "what-if" scenarios thread
Even had the Oilers lost to the Steelers or Dolphins, I dont think Eddy gets fired if they beat Buffalo. With Bud Adams, someones head was coming off after the debacle in Buffalo. The Bills just seemed to have their way with Miami and Houston. Had the Oilers won, it would have produced a great AFC ...
