Re: 1990 Broncos- What Happened?

1991 8-3 in one score games
1990 2-7 in one score games
That was the result of an easier schedule. In 1990, they played nine games against teams that finished above .500. In 1991, they only played five such games, and their last five games were against below .500 teams.

Re: 1990 Broncos- What Happened?

Earlier, I talked about the bad vibes going into the season after getting blown out three times. It wasn't surprising that the team crashed to a poor record as a result. Also, I now believe that 1990 should have been Dan Reeves' final season as HC of the Denver Broncos. Say what you want about how h...

Re: Worst ONE-AND-DONE playoff teams ever

The 86 Bengals are the real AFC what if. They actually beat those Seahawks that season. If you remember that final MNF between NE/MIA, it was Cincinnati, not Seattle, whose WC fate hung in the balance. Can't argue with that. They had quality wins @CLE, SEA, MIN, @NE, and the season finale against t...

Re: What happened with the 1981 Raiders?

Wasn't '81 when the NFL outlawed Stickum, which was a big part of Lester Hayes' game, among others? Yes, it was. It probably was a reason that they went from first in INT's in 1980 to last in 81 (like Jay Z pointed out earlier). Also, according to CCC Productions, the 1981 Raiders are the 22nd most...

Re: 1981 AFC East discussion

If either wins the division instead, hence finish 2nd-seed, the divisional vs San Diego may have not been as "Epic" but likely still a good game and likely either team beating the Chargers; this and either team giving Cincy a better 'Freezer Bowl' game and, hey, you never know maybe actua...

Re: 1998

at that time I actually didn't want to switch to the throwbacks. And those Namath era uniforms always looked like they belonged at Shea...not on that ugly green turf of Giants Stadium in the 1990s. They were just out of place. A lot of that Jets team gave off that mercenary vibe. Parcells wasn't a ...

Re: 1998

Yes that was a typo. Plummer/Norton spent the most time there.
Right. Also, it isn't possible to play worse than Tim McDonald did on Terance Mathis' TD catch (against the Falcons on Christmas Eve, 1995). McDonald's best days may have been in Arizona.

Re: NFL Team Yearbooks: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

could the Falcons have tried harder to go after Moon coming out of Houston in 94?
They would have been better off with Moon and one more year of Jerry Glanville than bringing in George and making June Jones the HC.

Re: 1998

Who cares if Lee played safety at *checks notes* West Chester. He was still too lumbering, and slow to play at safety. That's why he played inside linebacker. McDonald even at that stage in his career was the better choice.
Woodall played LLB for the 49ers, not MLB.

Re: John Fox -- HOVG?

Fox's team got very lucky in 2003. In Week 1, they were down 17-7 to the Jags going into the fourth quarter because Fox started the below average Rodney Peete over Delhomme, a FA they just signed. After putting Jake in, they did come back and get an 18-17 lead before Brunell hit ex-Raven Jermaine Le...
