Re: NFL "what-if" scenarios thread
What if Greg Cook does not get hurt? Which team drafts 3rd rounder Ken Anderson in 1971? The Colts? Their last pick in the 3rd round was QB Karl Douglas. The Colts don't trade for Domres either. And don't draft Bert Jones in '73 I wonder if the Colts still take Douglas (a black QB, by the way. That...

Re: Ranking the Losing Super Bowl Starting Quarterbacks
The Bills were so strong in 1991 that people forget that Bruce Smith missed most of the season. Nobody wanted to play in the Met in December or Rich Stadium in January. It psyched teams out, especially the Rams and Dolphins. I don't think the Bills were that much better than Miami in 1992, however....

Re: Ranking the Losing Super Bowl Starting Quarterbacks
You forgot Brady, who had a top-10 defense practically every year, and got bailed out by the officials on a regular basis.Meanwhile lesser QB’s got carried to rings while doing nothing except avoid turnovers and get carried (Simms, Rypien, Hostetler)

Re: Ranking the Losing Super Bowl Starting Quarterbacks
In the regular season, he was good enough to beat the '85 Bears. However, in the post-season, he couldn't beat the '85 Patriots - at home - in Miami - and was badly outplayed by the "great" Tony Eason. No defense? He was drafted by a team that was just in the Super Bowl. Do you think Davi...

Re: Which team do you consider the best of each decade?
2 of Gibbs’ SB were in strike years The 1987 SB was won because he decided not to trade Doug Williams. Schroeder wouldn't have led the Skins to the SB (Williams and Gibbs talked about this in the 1987 America's Game episode). The 1991 SB was won because they played Atlanta and Detroit, and they wer...

Re: NFL "what-if" scenarios thread
I don't think anything would have changed. The 5 regular season games he had 2 games that were not very good and 3 that were. He stank in the first 2 playoff games hitting 48 and 35 percent. The Super Bowl, give him credit for hitting the passes but the WRers were open by a mile and the run game ho...

Re: NFL "what-if" scenarios thread
1996 Week 17 and it’s NOT the Morten Andersen FG miss What if the Colts beat Cincinnati? This flip flops both AFC Wild Card games (Bills AT Colts, Jaguars at Steelers) Honestly, I think the Bills and Steelers take those games before losing the next week to the Broncos and Pats. We end up seeing NE ...

I have just never been that high on him. I was shocked when he was drafted as high as he was coming out of college. Why was McNabb overrated in your opinion?

Re: Which team do you consider the best of each decade?
For the 60's, the 1962 Packers make the most sense. For the 70's, I would say the 1976 Steelers (perhaps the best team ever). For the 1980's, I would say the 1985 Bears are the best. In the 1990's, the 1998 Broncos were the best. In the 00's, there weren't many all-time great teams. I won't pick the...
