Re: The 1999 Cleveland Expansion Team
If Belichick stays, him and Michael Lombardi (the director of player personnel) would have been in charge of the draft moving forward, not Newsome. So, I don't know if they do as good of a job (they probably don't. I know one person on line who referred to Lombardi as a hack).

Re: 1998
Whenever I watch clips of the 49ers of 1995 and more so 96, there’s one guy who I see getting picked on a lot: Tyrone Drakeford. I see Drakeford and Tim McDonald being thrown at all the time in those clips. And in 97 and 98 I see RW McQuarters and Darnell Walker thrown at a good amount. I don't thi...

Re: 1998
I agree with Seahawk Fever. The late-90's 49ers had weak o-lines and weak schedules, and their defense wasn't all that it was cracked up to be. Also, I don't think the 98 Falcons were an 8-8 team disguised as 14-2, but maybe a 10-6 one (I predicted that they would go 10-6 and get a wild card before ...

Re: 1998
If so, does Elway leave in free agency or does he request a trade? I think he would have been a free agent. Looking at the Hall of Very Good list, it says he was voted in eight years ago. If you had to do it over again would you not have voted him to that? I might because he did some good things, b...

Re: 1998
Dan Reeves is the most overrated coach in the history of football In Denver, he was literally carried by John Elway, 4QC’s, and the Mile High Mystique The Broncos made 3 SB’s in spite of him. And the 98 Falcons were not the smarter football team, a cupcake schedule made us think tht they were. Exac...

Re: 1981
I like that season, too. That was my first season watching the NFL. When I started collecting games, I picked up several from that year. you also had the Jets and Bengals rising from nowhere Then, two years later, both teams would go back down. While the Jets came back in 85 and 86, though, the Beng...

Re: The 1999 Cleveland Expansion Team
And Indianapolis would have still built the Hoosier Dome, and it would have been too enticing for Irsay not to bolt for. Exactly. The "what if" that has to do with the Colts actually has to do with the NBA Pacers. In 1977, Slick Leonard (coach of the Pacers at the time) and his wife Nancy...

Re: Your Unpopular Football Opinions
The Jags weren’t one of the best teams by the end of 96, they were just lucky They were because of the missed kick, but they were maturing late in the season. Once they got in, they were dangerous. They put a running game on the Bills like nobody did from 1990-93, and they knocked off the #1 seed B...

Re: Your Unpopular Football Opinions
Oh boy. Quarterbacked by the back-to-back league MVP. Offense scored the most points in the league. Defense surrendered the least amount of points in the league. Top-ranked defense in the league. Special teams had six return TDs including playoffs. That '96 team was lethal. The '97 Packers, on the ...
