Re: Aaron Donald, comeback

As a 49ers fan I can't say the thought of that overjoys me.

Talk about the second coming of Merlin Olsen and Deacon Jones... sheesh...

Re: Rodgers-Elway debate

...if you compare how they each compare to their respective peers, then I’d argue those comparisons are not era specific. I think most (if not all) of us here would agree with that sentiment. I certainly do. And, as I mentioned, the AP MVPs are pretty heavily in favor of Rodgers there. But I think ...

Re: Rodgers-Elway debate

All the stats are (arguably) era specific except possibly the AP MVPs which are heavily in Rodgers favor, 4:1 and Super Bowl Championships in which Elway holds a slight edge 2:1. Elway also has a large lead in Super Bowl appearances, 5:1. But, on heart alone, I'll take Elway all day long. He's who I...

Re: 2026 Hall of Very Good Finalists

Wow ... Russ Washington misses again Feedback is very important so please don't think I'm being anything other than serious when I ask this... Of the 20 finalists who would you drop to make room for Russ Washington? What criteria do you think is most important when making your judgement? (Pro Bowls...

Re: DB starting a full season at all 4 positions

I think, however, the gist of the original post is that, however you decide to label the position, by whatever nomenclature you choose, it is very, very rare to find someone with the talent to play four different positions for an entire season over the course of their career. It doesn't matter that ...

Re: DB starting a full season at all 4 positions

Kermit Alexander... there's a name I haven't heard in a while. He was a decent returner too although I remember him fumbling a lot. This is a tough one! I thought maybe some of the Landry era Cowboys might be included; I remember Charlie Waters and Cornell Green changed positions during their career...

Re: Joe Gibbs' 3 Super Bowls- a great achievment or an asterisk?

And the classic "best example" of the 11-1-2 Baltimore Colts, tied for the best record in the League, being excluded from the playoffs by a tie breaker vs the similarly 11-1-2 Los Angeles Rams on the last day of the season. Meanwhile, the Packers (9-4-1), Browns (9-5) and Cowboys (9-5) mad...

Sometimes it's due to the existing playoff structure, other times due to intense competition in their division or conference. Context matters. Assigning a binary, arbitrary standard to it is counterproductive and silly.
Absolutely.

Re: 2026 NFL Draft

The "fall" of Arvell Reese may wind up being the biggest story of this draft. Predicted by many (most?) to be the most gifted/best player available wound up going fifth to the Giants. Given the popular wisdom (oxymoron?) that the Raiders had to take a QB with the first pick it seemed almos...
