Re: 2025 NFL season predictions
Instead of 'what six new teams will make the playoffs?" I think we'll see a lot of the same this season. The Bengals the best bet to grab a spot in the AFC but I have them coming up a game short. In the NFC the only real difference is that I think the 49ers will have a bounce-back season, the V...

Re: Ken Grandberry and Charlie Wade
Those that are interested in high school football in my area know of Grandberry as making it from a HS that only was open for just over a decade. Majority of the students there were military kids, had it stayed open another decade it's likely where my dad would have attended and played HSFB. Lawsuit...

Re: Dolphins/Seahawks, 1999
Getting back on target of the post, the Seahawks also backed into the playoffs, though their fate wasn't decided until after they had played their final regular season game. Seattle could clinch the AFC West with a win against the surging Jets, or a Chiefs loss to Oakland. (The two games were playe...

Re: Dolphins/Seahawks, 1999
You say, Reaser, that you had no real expectations going into that playoff game - just win that last KIngdome game - but what were your expectations after that 8-2 start? Same with what you thought about Miami's? The same. Were going to be in the playoffs -- though, obviously didn't play out quite ...

Re: Dolphins/Seahawks, 1999
I saw Kitna play in HS and one game in college. Was really after the 1997 WLAF season though that I liked him. Was insane he didn't get MVP (did get World Bowl MVP beating T.J. Rubley's -who was inexplicably league MVP- team in the World Bowl.) For some of us, it was an "our guy" QB when h...

Re: Least experienced QB corps ... ones with fewest wins going into season
Was just thinking about this, this morning re: Saints situation.
Thanks, John.
Also, always wish QB wins were handled like Pitchers or Goaltenders, Gelbaugh deserves the win for that 1992 game against the Broncos!

Re: AAFC records now to be acknowledged by the NFL!
About time. I always argued that more of the AAFC than just 3 teams ended up in the NFL. I'll just copy/paste what I said from one of the many discussions on this in the past: "The NY Yanks were essentially the NY Yankees minus the 6 players that went to the Giants, and Brooklyn and NY merged w...

Re: Teams with more than one Hall-of-Famer with the same jersey number
Jerry Rice wearing #80 with the Seahawks (Steve Largent) was a Whitsitt debacle.

Re: Battle for Iwo Jima
I did a CC article on those three Marines. It was kind of fascinating to find that most pro and college gridders who went into the service in WWII were in the Marines. And, as most were college grads or had some college behind them, many became officers. Re the flag raising....I once flew to Minnes...
