Re: what college QBs did you consider "can't miss" prospects over the years?
Was there a time when top 10 pick QBs didn't automatically get an extended starting leash if the team didn't like what it saw in practice? If so, that has certainly not been the case anytime within my lifetime. Nowadays, even obvious wastes of draft capital like Zach Wilson get a couple full years ...

Re: what college QBs did you consider "can't miss" prospects over the years?
I can't find stats for some of the guys you mentioned. It seems NFL teams had learned their lesson about these dudes by 2000, though, and they quickly went from late-round picks to undrafted and unnoticed. Case Keenum is another one, who actually made a career out of it. In the early 90s, Ware and ...

Another guy I wonder what happened to: David Klingler. If I had been alive then, that's a guy I would've thought couldn't bust. The OG Joe Burrow. That was the offense (R&S) and Houston's proclivity for running up the score (e.g. infamous post-SMU death penalty game) and padding stats (e.g. Kli...

Re: Thanksgiving TV rotation
Same. It was one of the scheduling things I looked forward to.Crazy Packers Fan wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 11:39 pm I'm sort of nostalgic for those stricter rules, though. It was actually exciting every year to find out which AFC team would be on Thanksgiving.

Re: what college QBs did you consider "can't miss" prospects over the years?
"Can't miss" goes further back than college, more begins or starts in high school: #1 QB recruit, HS All-American and/or even though it's been flawed a lot of years, Elite 11 MVP. To where once they start college tis known years in advance whether they come out after 3 or 4 years, they're ...

Yup, saw the story about it being hacked previously.
As with above, clicked on a bookmark yesterday (old WA HSFB classification numbers) to look something up and it was still down.

Re: Atlanta Falcons/New Orleans Saints rivalry discussion
early 90s there was a lot of "cross pollination" between rosters. Bobby Hebert, Michael Haynes and Morten Andersen are guys that immediately come to mind. The '91 Wildcard game is always the first thing that comes to mind when I think "Falcons, Saints" but the next is exactly th...

Plus caught a TD, obviously. So 100% involved in the Lions 19 of 19 passing.
