Re: The Death of NFL Dynasties

In terms of dynasties, I always think of two players … Jerry Norton, the only player to play two seasons in Green Bay during the seven-year stretch in which they win five championships and he was not on a title-winning squad. Bruce Van Dyke, a 12th round pick by the Eagles in ‘66 who started 93 of 9...

Re: Super Bowl LX, 2/8/26 Levi's Stadium

Guess I was alone - or among the few - who enjoyed last night’s game. Great defensive units, few penalties and a strong running game by Seattle - love how Walker stands flat-footed and completely upright before the snap.

Close through three quarters.

Re: When you're drafted or when you're signed?

What if a player is drafted and signed but never plays a down for the team? If he is injured or cut before he plays a down do you still consider him "on the team?" Does it matter (to you) if he did or didn't play in the preseason? I'm leaning towards considering a player officially "...

Mike Furry, 2006, 1089 yards receiving with the Lions. He had played three years with the Rams, the first two as a receiver and in the third had moved to safety and started 11 games. Signed by the Lions for the next season, he moved back to receiver and finished second in the league in receptions.

Tom Brown, safety, Packers 1964-'68 and Washington for one game under Lombardi in '69. Brown started in three straight NFL championship games from 1965-67 and in Super Bowls I and II. Re: 2025 Obituaries

Bob Long, reciever for the Packers, Falcons and Redskins from 1964-‘70) died Sunday. Bob was a guest at the PRFA Meeting in Green Bay in 2016 (I believe Rick Schabowski drove him up from Milwaukee). They got there early Friday night and Bob grabbed a seat to listen to speakers (he was to speak with ...

Re: Elam Ending in the NFL

Probably because football is a game and not a Marvel movie. A stirring climax isn't built in, nor should it be. If one team has the game in hand in the fourth quarter, they've earned the right to put it in cruise control: empty the bench, give the backup QB some snaps, etc. I don't need an exciting...
