Re: NFLgames postponed or moved due to weather
Excellent list. But shouldn't it include all the games that were scheduled for September 16 and 17, 2001? They were all tacked on at the end of the regular season.

Re: NFLgames postponed or moved due to weather
I wonder why Toronto wasn't an option. Having that many people (players, coaches, staff, etc) go out of country on relatively short notice probably would caused some issues. Buffalo media have said Toronto was out due to having to get passports and work visas for the teams on short notice. Another ...

Re: 1950's Detroit Lions
Just ask the 1934 Bears, 1942 Bears, or 2007 Patriots.Saban wrote:

Re: 1950's Detroit Lions
The 1952 Browns were the weakest of Graham's teams, but the 1953 Browns were arguably the best. I didn't realize before that they were less than 30 minutes from having an undefeated season. They scored first in the 3rd quarter of week 14 to get a 20-14 lead. Philly scored 28 straight points. (Can yo...

Re: Mike Curtis vs. Jack Lambert
First problem with the comparision is they did not play in their primes at the same time. I think you could make a case that Curtis may have been a bit more versitile since he did start at all three LB positions in his career but that wouldn't make him a better MLB. All things considered I think La...

Re: 1950's Detroit Lions
I don't think it's a stretch to say the Lions owned the Browns during the Graham years, and beyond, despite the blowout loss. I also have no problem saying the 90's Cowboys owned the Packers, despite a 45-17 loss in 1997. In both cases, the win was an aberration in the larger picture. Not that Cleve...

Re: Mike Curtis vs. Jack Lambert
The Raiders of that era are notorious for their hatred of the Steelers, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that Tatum would make a comment like that. In the book, Tatum ripped Franco Harris (to say nothing of Lynn Swann) more than he did Jack Lambert. He said Franco would "slip or fall, cake o...

The Bears became the first team to give up 50 points in consecutive games since...the Rochester Jeffersons in 1923.

Re: What SURE future Hall Of Famers are currently in the NFL
Sports Illustrated ran an article in the summer of 1995. It polled 33 out of 34 HOF voters and asked this very question; who would they vote for the HOF right now? Only 7 players and one coach got enough votes to be enshrined; Jerry Rice and Marino were the only ones to get every vote. Don Shula, El...
