Acknowledging that Rodgers in aggregate generally benefited from various aspects (team, coaches, rules) compared to Elway, I would still pick Rodgers. Not that anyone here has, but I don't see how that could be interpreted as a slight, despite how annoying ESPN commentators can be.

I (and likely others) nominated Wilkerson as one of my two submissions.

Obviously eye is in the beholder on these guys from 30-70 years ago, often with nominal film, though I think he's clearly above most of these finalists. As a plus he has quite a few games on YouTube.

I am always annoyed by folks that can't answer a simple question posed in a thread. So I'll be annoyed at my own existence for a bit.

I would pick neither. I think together they make excellent gatekeepers for setting the HOF bar. Sort of like the clubs on the old wack-a-mole arcade game.

I think that sort of begs the question, if someone hangs around in contention for ages and can never crack through that it might be time to look in different directions.
