Re: 1984 Steelers
Tony Morrelli ... wasnt a fan, despite Malone having a 98 yrd TD run in college.

Re: 1984 Steelers
Malone also had multiple 40 yard runs in his career along with a 90 yrd TD reception. His athleticism got him drafted and after dealing with pocket passers in Baltimore, Noll preferred more athletic QBs.

Re: 1976: PATRIOTS vs Vikings in Super Bowl XI?
Like Jay Z said ... the Patriots would have been running, and like the Snake, Grogan wouldnt have thrown much. I think the Pats with Francis, Gray and Hannah clearing the way, would have had over 200 yrds rushing themselves. The Vikes would have needed redzone turnovers to keep it closer. Haynes on ...

Re: 1984 Steelers
They had a QB that should have been on NFL Top 10 QB Teases. I presume you mean Mark Malone. Part of that is that the quarterback had to have looked like he had the potential to be a franchise quarterback before not panning out. (their number one was Scott Mitchell, but in my opinion Jeff George wh...

Re: NFL "what-if" scenarios thread
That win by the Redskins was huge in Dallas after going down 21-10 in the first half. Watching that game, the crowd was electric but the Cowboys had a tough time stopping Byner and Sanders throughout. Emmitt Smith had a 75 yrd TD run but had stomach or groin problems that limited his second half. Lo...

Re: NFL "what-if" scenarios thread
The 1991 Redskins had a great season but I still believe had the Cowboys beaten Detroit, they would have been beaten by the Cowboys in RFK. Johnson built his team to challenge the big, physical teams in the eastern division and Steve Beuerlein might have started in the SB against a healthy Jim Kelly...

Re: 1984 Steelers
Marino with the Steelers probably wouldnt have won it all in 83 or 84 but I feel the Steelers would have won a SB by 1991. With Marino I feel they could have beaten any NFC team.

Re: 1984 Steelers
Team still had great leadership from Donnie Shell and John Stallworth. Merriwhether and Lipps had big years as well despite erratic QB play. Tom Moore ran a tough but pedestrian offense that relied on cohesive offensive line play. How they beat Denver at Mile High in postseason is anyones guess, but...

Re: Best ever slow footed receivers
After the passing of the great Raymond Berry ... decided to revisit this post again. The greatest possession receiver in NFL History. I will look into "slower" receivers who have excelled since this post was written. Kupp with the Rams had been up and down after his great 2021 season due t...

Re: 'Explanation' as to why Jim Mora never won a playoff game?
His teams in Nawlins were tough but had too many blue-collar players, with the stars being on defense. The Colts werent ready for a buzzsaw Titans team that were fired up after surviving the Bills in that 1999/00 WC game. One of Mora's toughest losses wasnt a playoff game but a loss to the 49ers at ...
