Re: Dirtiest player in each franchise's history?

For the Vikings, perhaps Robert Griffith. He was like the purple version of Rodney Harrison.

Re: Misspelled names on uniforms

Minnesota Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen's name was misspelled "Griffin" on his jersey in 2016. He was in his seventh season with the team already. As my wife and I like to joke, "I guess the interns were working that day." https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/vikings...

Re: CC Volume 41 Number 2

From the minutes: Sunday, March 17, 2019 Mr. Crippen called an email meeting of the Board of Directors for the purpose of discussing the recommendation by Mr. Bozeka concerning the date, place and primary hotel for the 2020 PFRA Convention in Canton, Ohio. The Board members were generally supportive...

Ball changes?

Has anyone tracked how and whether the NFL ball has changed over the years, both cosmetically and structurally? And did changes affect play? I contend even a stripe on the ball will make it easier to see and catch. This whole Juiced-ball Era in MLB got me thinking.

Re: HOVG Class of 2019 Nominees

I’m confused. How does this list come together? My nominees aren’t on the list, but I sent the email to Andy as instructed. Is there some whittling down that happens in between?

Press clippings shared by teams

If only they did back then what they do now, right? I stumbled across the Minnesota Vikings media site and I found out they not only clip articles about the Vikings from various news sources, but they also share them, too. (Not just links, but the full text.)

Re: I lost the NFL Network

While I did dislike about 90 percent of their host-driven programming, they did replay NFL games I didn't get to see during the week, and in the off-season I would occasionally watch NFL Films related shows, but ATT Uverse and Direct TV both dropped the NFL Network. I turned it on last night to che...

Re: Why Eddie Kotal belongs in the HOVG

Lots of worthy players from the 10s and 20s not in. For this one, looking at PFR and seeing '28 was the only season with postseason honors may make it a tough road. To me Latone is the litmus test for the 10s and 20s - if he can't get in, I don't think anyone else will. I'll nominate a few this yea...

Why Eddie Kotal belongs in the HOVG

I nominated the first full-time scout, Eddie Kotal, for the HOVG. Here is my argument for him. After five years of scouting and drafting, Kotal almost single-handedly assembled a powerhouse roster for the Los Angeles Rams. The 1951 Rams had two great quarterbacks, the two best receivers in the NFL, ...

Re: Is the AAF an even bigger disaster than the original XFL

The question of "How much is too much?" with regard to pro football was finally answered with the demise of the AAF. I'd like to know "How much [of what?] is too much and for whom?" If the AAF did manage to get the NFL and NFLPA to agree to use it as a developmental league (and ...
