Re: Looking At the Teams That Attempted to Threepeat

Just looked up that regular season Browns/Lions game. Otto Graham was 1 for 6 with 15 yards passing! Wow. Maybe the teams were sleepwalking through it to get ready for the big game. With it supposedly being Graham's last game plus the fact that Det had beaten the Browns twice, I think it might have...

Doesn't the NFL know they are screwing up our trivia game?

Re: Random Inane Trivia

There was an article some years ago analyzing Jim Brown's 1962 season game by game that said he had "something like 1012." In 1972 Mercury Morris had (I think) 995 yards after the last game, but the League searched and found 5 extra yards to give Morris 1000, making him and Larry Csonka t...

Re: Negro League stats

From the article, and spot on with my thinking: This need to try erasing that injustice, to whitewash and sugarcoat segregation and act like it never happened, is offensive to me and every other person that looks like me. These things happened in our history, and all of these institutions like Majo...

Re: 1984 49ers = Overrated

Dallas' 2 SB teams weren't THAT great either. Emmitt was propped by the O-Line, Aikman was the most overrated QB in the history of sports, Irvin had average stats for a so-called playmaker, and their defense was OK at best. They only one because they feasted on an overrated NFCE (Aging Giants, agin...

Opponents FG% at KC when Lowery was the Chiefs kicker

I've heard 2 things about Nick Lowery. One that he was much better than the league average compared to the best kickers today are above the league average. And that Arrowhead is a tough stadium for field goal kickers From the box scores at pro football reference. Here is a list of opponents FG% in A...

Re: The best Buck Shaw HC'd squad?

I'm going with 1948. 3663 yards rushing. 247 point differential and they themselves almost went undefeated. Losing to Cleveland by 7 and 3 (2-6 vs Cleveland in the AAFC 4 regular seasons and 5 of the losses were by 7 or less)
