Re: NFL "what-if" scenarios thread

I stand by my opinion that the 91 Redskins were better than any Super Bowl champ that followed them, but you can definitely nitpick their schedule, that criticism is valid. I would add to it that the Lions they beat early in the season were playing without Barry, and the Falcons they beat early in t...

Re: 1992-93: Super Bowl XXVII without 35-3

I believe that Bills team was the only thing standing in the way of Marino making it back to the Super Bowl in 92. I don't have any confidence in that Jack Pardee Oilers team going on a road playoff run as a wild card team. Their best shot was in 91 had they beat the Giants to get a home playoff gam...

Re: Best MVP cases by non-quarterbacks and running backs

I don't think I've ever seen anybody make a case for Rodgers deserving the 2014 award over Watt. Rodgers numbers for the modern era of inflated passing stats weren't spectacular enough to take that award from what Watt did that year, fewer than 4,500 passing yards, less than 40 touchdown passes, onl...

Re: NFL "what-if" scenarios thread

For all the love the 92-93 Cowboys get I've always been more impressed with the 95 team. They didn't have Jimmy Johnson but they had Larry Allen and played a tougher schedule that year than their 92-93 teams did. I don't feel like either of the 3 had as impressive of a season as the 91 Redskins thou...

Re: NFL "what-if" scenarios thread

1993 Jets vs Bills Week 17 What if they actually didn’t rule Thurman Thomas’ fumble a touchdown (this play has been mentioned a few times here) Even if the Jets lose at Houston, they would have gotten in at 9-7 Meanwhile the Bills fall to 11-5, Houston gets the #1 seed, KC #2 (H2H tiebreaker) thus ...

Re: 2003 Carolina Panthers

The not yet 2 year old Texans defeated them that year in a defensive duel with Capers taking down his former team with the new one. That same Texans team took the Patriots DEEP into OT that same year in the same stadium where New England defeated Carolina to win that Super Bowl. One of my favorite e...

Re: Favorite OL that never got a single accolade???

I feel like by 1992 Courtney Hall the Chargers center was one of the best in the NFL for a few years. I was surprised to see that he never even made the Pro Bowl, also didn't know he was out of the league after an injury in 1996 at just 28.

Re: A Vikings/Broncos Super Bowl XXII

I think it would have been a close back and forth game and up there with XXIII as best Super Bowls of the 80's.

Re: Notable/Interesting 7-9 teams in NFL history

1995 Rams New Coach, Rich Brooks, in a more dynamic offense, supposedly, a lot of 11 personnel, away from Ground Chuck II Starts 5-1 and after 13 weeks in the hunt at 7-6 running game was poor, Jerome Bettis didn't fit in an offense without solid lead blocker and of course replaced on 3rd downs. Th...
