Re: LUCKIEST single-season teams?

Love my '77 Cowboys, but they didn't exactly have to overcome a murderer's row of QBs in the post-season (Avellini, Lee, Morton). Though 78 lost the Super Bowl, was their set of opposing playoff quarterbacks better? Also how about 71? At least they faced a future HOFer in both of those Super Bowls.

Re: Biggest Draft Slides you can recall

Marc Spindler dropped in the 1990 draft. I think they had a TV crew at his home, too, which made it more agonizing.

Re: 3 Most Perplexing Losses By Your Fav Team (60s, 70s, 80s)

The Cowboys losses to the Browns in the 1968 and 1969 were always perplexing to me. But Blanton Collier was a terrific coach. 1966 @ Eagles: Tim Brown had two long kickoff returns for touchdowns in a 24-23 defeat. 1975 Green Bay: inexplicably lost at home to a terrible Packer team. 1984 @ Bills: Bi...

Re: New Orleans Saints and NASA 1972-76

How insane is it that New Orleans hasn't drafted a QB in the first round since 1971 (Manning)?

Re: "New" Hail Mary footage

Would be cool to see a super slow-mo of his catch on the sideline two plays before on 4th and 17. It was ruled a forceout but one of the best catches I have ever seen, which enabled the "Hail Mary". Not to mention the security guard who tried to kick Pearson after the catch. :o After the ...

Yep, my bad. Still, a remarkably bad game considering.

Detroit @ Dallas - 1970 Divisional Round

Ridiculously anemic qb play in a game where weather was not a factor.

Munson: 5 of 12 for 48 yards. 0 TDs and 0 INTs.

Morton: 4 of 18 for 38 yards. 0 TDs and 1 INT.

Re: (More) Thoughts on Super Bowl V

Craig Morton was terrible as well. Most of his passes were nowhere near the receiver. His best passes were dropped by Bob Hayes.
It didn't help that he lost one of his best receivers, Lance Rentzel, due to "personal reasons." :?
