Re: Glad to be ahead of crowd
Some scientists did an experiment a few years ago. One photograph. Two groups of people. Group one had twenty looks at the photo, starting with a heavily magnified image, then nineteen other images each a little further back than the prior, until the final look was a normal view of the photograph. G...

Re: Glad to be ahead of crowd
Right wrong or indifferent, the Rams postseason failings probably played a role. And other than the 1975 game vs. St. Louis, he didn't really distinguish himself in the playoffs, and it pains me to say that. Youngblood himself thinks much of it had to do with his last name starting with "Y.&quo...

Re: Glad to be ahead of crowd
Here's the other side of that coin: There's no bigger Jack Youngblood fan than me, but the 1981-1982 seasons were not stellar seasons for Jack. Technique alone saw him manage respectable numbers, but he was hitting the John Barleycorn pretty hard (acknowledged in his autobiography). When Robinson wa...

Re: Glad to be ahead of crowd
Did I somehow miss the 2017 NFL season?
Some folks' idea of predictive prowess is making forecasts that turn out to be reality on the field.
Others, by how well their predictions match other peoples' predictions.
The former crowd is smaller.

Re: Big TO blowup on Twitter and PFT
You complained about a handful of minimally off-topic posts about the positives/negatives of twitter but then you post this giant .jpg? Interesting, indeed. The thread title literally contains "Twitter and PFT" while the original post literally is about the debate between the various writ...

Re: 1945 Cleveland Rams
Very nice article on the 1945 Cleveland Rams by Coach Troup. Anything he writes is incredible and worth reading, in my opinion. http://nflfootballjournal.blogspot.com/ Someone mentioned Denis Crawford (and his book on the Tampa Bay Bucs) earlier as one of the many who used to post here. Denis is, i...

Re: Big TO blowup on Twitter and PFT
Oh, I don't know that the timing matters much. A former boss of mine used to say you're not a scorpion over there and and lizard over here. People are typically the same no matter where they are--or when they are. Highly doubtful T.O. turned into a knucklehead overnight as soon as he left San Franci...

Re: Big TO blowup on Twitter and PFT
The statistical standards are constantly changing at WR, more than any other position, even QB. From a statistical standpoint, taking his era into consideration, he is one of the top ten WR's of all time. He is not one of the top five. I do not put him in the inner circle with Rice and Hutson, he i...

Re: copyright question
I can't speak to the law but the same thing happened to me at a Kinkos. I brought in a vintage team photo--think it was the 1945 Cleveland Rams but not sure; it was too big for my home scanner and I wanted it reduced to a smaller size--and the clerk looked at it and said they couldn't copy it, citin...
